Talking to an AI, s*x-cults, fictionalized history, unique homeware and a bit of helpful self-promotion.
Happy Sunday,
And if it’s your first time, welcome to this newsletter, the dumping ground of everything I like.
Since last week, not much has changed. I’ve recovered from the ugliest cold, worked on one of the best projects I’ve worked since I am a freelance, and I’ve kept ignoring the fact that there are only two weeks left to 2022.
But, not for long! I’m going to London this week, and I have the feeling I will absorb the Christmas spirit there. I’ll let you know.
Actually, I was thinking next week, I’ll focus on my London special in this newsletter. So if you haven’t, make sure you subscribe, so you don’t miss it!
In the meantime, let’s see what’s happened this week.
What made me say QUE?!
Artificial Intelligence Chatbot
I can’t be the only one who’s spent all week playing with Chat GPT; what a thing to discover on one of my busiest weeks!
So grateful I had work to do, otherwise I would have spent my entire waking time asking more things like creating a meal plan, designing a website or helping me with video scripts.
If you don’t know what I’m talking about, I’ve asked the chat to describe itself as if speaking to a 5-years-old. Here’s the answer:
ChatGPT is a computer program that can talk to you and answer your questions. It uses special words and letters to understand what you're saying and then comes up with a response that sounds like a person talking. It's like having a little robot friend who can chat with you.
So, there you go, your little robot friend.
To my wish-list
The tableware of my dreams
I’m always looking for the most aesthetic way to drink (and make) my coffee. You saw it last week. And every time I see Ryan Putnam sharing his work on Twitter, I’m reminded of how ugly my current coffee mugs are.
I won’t get into much detail because his work speaks on its own, but I have to say, he has some of the most beautiful coffee mugs/cups and homeware I’ve ever seen. They are so unique!
The ones that go straight into my wish list are this Coffee Maker and the Mug. And I know they are currently sold out, but one can dream.
Watching
You know there’s people who love true-crime documentaries? Well, I’m part of the subgroup who can’t miss the ones about cults. I don’t know what it is.
The Vow tells the story of the rise and fall of NXIVM, a so-called “company focused on developing the human potential” that turned into a sex-cult, human trafficking group. Maybe you’ve heard about women who branded themselves with the initials of the cult leader? That’s them.
In any case, it’s a 16-part documentary on HBO Max, that focuses on people who escaped that group as well as on people who are still followers of that leader. There will be moments when you think: “how did they now realize?”, but one of the things I’ve liked about it, is that it doesn’t portray ex-members as being stupid or naive.
They just met the wrong person, at the worst possible time.

The Marriage Portrait by Maggie O’Farrell
By the same author of Hamnet, the book telling the story of Shakespeare son, comes one of the best books I’ve read this year. The Marriage Portrait follows a similar style, with O’Farrell taking a historical character and giving her a story.
In this case, the story focuses on Lucrezia de Medici, a young woman who was forced to marry when she was 16 and died a year later. We don’t know anything about her, so the book tells the story she deserved to have.
Don’t be mistaken, this is a fictionalized book, but that doesn’t mean it’s not based on real history. The details of how life was at the court of the Medici or Florence in the 1550s are incredible, but they are just the backdrop of the extraordinary portrait of a resilient young woman’s battle for her very survival.

Figma to Framer in Minutes
This is 50% self-promotion, 50% helpful video. Hopefully a bit more of the second. Earlier this week, I published a video on how to recreate Figma designs in Framer in a matter of minutes.
If you are looking for a way to create your portfolio in minutes, this is the way. Also, it has a free template, so no excuses.
That’s it for this week. See you next time!
